Junior Johnnies

WHAT IS JUNIOR JOHNNIES?

Junior Johnnies is a program offered to assist your child, who will be commencing school the following year, to make the transition into school life less daunting.

WHAT DO JUNIOR JOHNNIES DO?

Junior Johnnies children are supervised by a qualified teacher to participate in group and individual activities. These activities vary from week to week and are designed to get children ready for school routines and learning.

HOW OFTEN WILL JUNIOR JOHNNIES BE HELD?

We offer the Junior Johnnies Program in school terms 3 & 4.

Term 3

For the last 5 weeks of Term 3 we invite students eligible for enrolment to Kindergarten in the next year to come for 2 hours per week on Fridays from 8:45am – 10:45am. During these 5 visits the students and their families will further develop an understanding of the educational setting of St John’s Primary School. They will have the opportunity to become familiar with school students, staff and routines. It will also provide an opportunity to develop an understanding of where each child is in his/her early learning journey.

Term 4

The students will attend 4 x Half Day Orientation Sessions with the Kindergarten Teacher for the following year. These days are only open to students who have enrolled for Kindergarten at St John’s Primary School.
